Rebel Charters

Have a question about our company or services? We have the answer. Check out these FAQs and then contact Rebel Charters for more information.

  • What species of fish are available to target for a bay fishing charter?

For bay fishing charters, anglers can typically expect to target redfish and black drum. There's also a possibility of fishing for trout, flounder, and sheephead, depending on conditions.
  • What species of fish are available to target for an offshore/deep-sea fishing charter?

The species available for offshore charters depend on the trip length. Longer trips that venture further from shore increase the variety of fish species. This is far too numerous to list, but it's a great opportunity to visit with your captain about what we can expect for the day. We encourage you to contact us for more detailed information.  If you have a specific species in mind, please inquire about the recommended trip duration.

  • What items are restricted on the charter?

While we encourage you to bring your own drinks, and snacks, certain items are not allowed on our charters. These include bananas (considered bad luck), styrofoam coolers (easily breakable), glass containers (safety hazard), spray suntan lotion (makes surfaces slippery), and sunflower seeds (can clog bilge pumps). No illegal drugs are or substances are allowed on the boat.

  • What should I bring on my fishing charter trip?

It's essential to purchase a Texas state fishing license for anyone 17 years or older. We recommend bringing your own drinks, snacks, sunscreen lotion, and sunglasses. Our charter provides bait, tackle, and fuel for the trip.

  • What payment types does Rebel Charters accept?

We accept various payment methods, including cash, checks, Cash App, and Venmo. Links for digital payment options can be found on our website.

  • What are the qualifications of the captain on my private fishing charter with rebel charters?

Our captains are fully licensed and insured professionals who meet all requirements and hold a US Coast Guard license, ensuring your safety and a quality fishing experience.
  • Where will my fishing charter pick-up and drop-off location be? What time do we leave?

Our charters depart from Port Aransas Fisherman's Wharf at 900 Tarpon St, Port Aransas, TX 78373. Departure times vary based on season, daylight availability, and personal preference. We'll provide specific timing details for your trip prior to the scheduled date.
  • How does the weather affect my trip?

We closely monitor weather conditions before each trip. If safety concerns arise, we'll contact you to reschedule. We don't cancel trips in advance, and we never cancel trips unless the weather presents a safety issue. Please note that local weather often differs from broader forecasts. Feel free to call or text us with any weather-related questions.
